Asakusa Tourist Information Center: free rooftop view
The tourist center across the street from Kaminarimon is free and open every day, 9:00–20:00. Its 8th-floor terrace stays open until 22:00 and looks straight down Nakamise to Senso-ji — one of the best free views in Asakusa, and a useful stop for maps and a break.

Why go?
For the view. The building stands right across the street from Kaminarimon, and its 8th-floor observation terrace looks straight down Nakamise toward Senso-ji. It is free, and the terrace stays open until 10 p.m. — so you can come back after dark to see the temple lit up.

Getting there
It is 1 minute on foot from Asakusa Station on the Ginza Line, 2 minutes from the Toei Asakusa Line, 5 minutes from Tobu, and about 10 minutes from the Tsukuba Express station. Address: 2-18-9 Kaminarimon, Taito-ku.
How it fits your visit
It is stop four on my 2-hour Asakusa route: after Senso-ji, come back down Nakamise, go up for the view, then walk to the river for the Skytree view from Azuma Bridge. More ideas: Asakusa travel guide.
